Are you an Assistant Quantity Surveyor, Graduate QS, or Quantity Surveyor with NEC3 experience looking to work on a truly iconic project? Both roles have become available due to internal promotions.
This is your opportunity to be part of the £4.19 billion HS2 London Tunnels Main Works contract, delivered by the SCS Joint Venture (Skanska, Costain, Strabag). With over £50–£70 million in monthly spend, this is one of the most complex and high-profile civils packages in Europe.
SCS is responsible for constructing 13 miles of twin-bore tunnels (26 miles total) between West Ruislip and Euston, using six Tunnel Boring Machines (five operating simultaneously), along with shafts, green tunnels, cross passages, utility works, and associated infrastructure.
The Role
As an Assistant Commercial Manager, you’ll play a key part in the post-contract commercial delivery of this major NEC3 Option C civils package. Working within a lean client team, you'll support a Senior Commercial Manager, while also taking ownership of specific assets within your remit.
This is a hands-on role with meaningful responsibility. You’ll support:
- Compensation Event (CE) processes
- Applications for Payment
- Commercial reporting and contract administration
- Risk and change management
- Supply chain analysis
- Dispute resolution
- Contract performance inputs for internal monthly reviews (MBRs)
This role offers career-defining exposure to commercial and project management on a megaproject scale—ideal for someone looking to rapidly develop into a Commercial Manager within the next 1–2 years.
What We’re Looking For
✔️ Degree-qualified Assistant QS, Graduate QS, or Quantity Surveyor
✔️ Experience with NEC3 or NEC4 contracts, particularly in post-contract administration
✔️ Experience in civils/infrastructure, rail, heavy civils, highways, utilities, etc
✔️ Familiarity with CEMAR or similar contract management platforms
✔️ Strong communicator and collaborator
✔️ Self-starter with an appetite to grow and learn

- Rail System Alliance - £550m Rail Depot, £1.2bn Signalling Package, £500m M&E Systems, Track, Power, and more (through to at least 2034)
