- Looking to recruit an experienced BIM Manager for the Northampton Region for a multidisciplinary Main Contractor who have enjoyed constant growth over the last 10 years whose current turnover stands at £800m they have a passion for utilising the latest possible technology and modern methods of construction.
Looking for a BIM Manager to report to the area Senior BIM Manager you will have a good understanding of the BIM Standards ISO 19650 and be responsible for the BIM process on a number of new build projects, varying in value from £10 - £90m They are looking for a hands on BIM Manager involved in creating, coordinating & federating BIM Models & data and be responsible or the management of data within the Common Data Environment, managing inhouse BIM Technicians & BIM Coordinators.

Well known for their industrial new builds where 60% of their work comes from having constructed 75 million sq ft of industrial space to date they are building industrial complexes for their wide client base including Amazon, Ocado, JLR, Supermarkets etc. Build sizes varying from £10 - £90m they also work within “Multi-rooms” area constructing student accommodation, hotels & residential blocks and to support both sectors they have a civil & infrastructure division which constructs the roads, drainage, 278 works required on such developments.
Digital Credentials
The company has completely embraced digital ways of working delivering BIM Level 2 projects as standard and even if a client does not ask for the project to be BIM enabled, they will still employ it on the project to reduce risk, improve planning & design options which often leads the client to changing its mind for the next project. This innovate principal contractor in terms of BIM & Digital Engineering has full Directorship buy in with BIM fully built into the companies processes & governance.
They have they very own Centre for Innovative Construction (CIC). It comprises a virtual reality BIM CAVE with a 125” screen for 3D model viewing, an interactive meeting room allowing real-time design changes on 86” smart screens as well as a training space that will enable 360-degree education across the business and the supply chain. The 2,000 sq ft CIC facilitates interactive experiences within design models – from clash detection and dimensional design checks to spatial awareness assessment and data asset information retrieval.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Support the delivery of BIM requirements on projects and take an active involvement in the promotion, development and delivery of BIM within the company and providing supply chain support as necessary.
- Be a hands-on BIM Manager involved in creating, coordinating and federating BIM models and data and taking responsibility for the management of information in the Common Data Environment through inputting into managing BIM Technicians and BIM Coordinators as required and as necessary by the projects to deliver BIM outcomes/deliverables.
- Be developing and managing project BIM documentation, training, mentoring, coaching, trouble shooting, mediation, auditing the information.
- Influence the way the company and its supply chain fulfil information deliverables as part of the role including developing / maintaining Information Requirements, BIM Execution Plans and checking for compliance with Project BIM standards.
- Ensure delivery of projects to fulfil the requirements of the standards and maintain our independent UK BIM Framework Certification.
- Support research and development in line with the company’s Digital Strategy
Candidates
Interested in people who have BIM Management experience from a range of backgrounds architectural, main contractor or design consultancy. You will have a good grasp of the BIM Standards ISO 19650 & good understanding of the design & build process coupled with being a strong communicator.
To be considered for this role you must meet the following criteria:
- Demonstrable experience / knowledge of the Construction Industry.
- Experience and knowledge of the Building Information Modelling (BIM) process and standards and excellent knowledge of ISO 19650 / PAS 1192 Standards and the UK BIM Framework
- Ideally previous employment as a BIM Manager, BIM Coordinator, Information Manager, Design Manager, and related roles within Digital Information Management.
- Ideally previous experience in construction sector projects such as Commercial, Industrial, Mixed Use, Residential, Apartment Blocks, Student Accommodation, Hotels, Education or Healthcare.
- Knowledge and understanding of Autodesk software (Revit, Autocad, Navisworks, BIM 360) and Common Data Environments.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, with strong technical writing skills.
- Ability to work independently and able to manage own time effectively.
- Ability to identify the need for change, and the ability to initiate and implement change.
- Ability to build effective working relationships, with people at all levels across the organisation and externally.
- Relevant industry qualification (Degree / HND / HNC etc).
Salary & Package

An element of hybrid working is available but must be a comfortable commute to Northampton and the surrounding area though working from home mixed with office / project working is the norm.
