- 2 Lead Service Transition Managers are required for 6-month interim contracts working within the Client Organisation responsible for the New High-Speed Rail project in the UK this is a multi-billion-pound high-speed railway to directly link the city centres of: London, Birmingham, Leeds and Manchester. Contract Extension highly likely.
The Lead Service Transition Managers will work within the Digital, Data and Technology Department;- this role is responsible for the planning and coordination of resources to make sure that IT & Technology services are effectively transitioned into service operation, typically moving from one supplier contract to another.
The Transition managers are accountable for migration IT Services from one contract to another. 1 Transition Manager is required to pick up on the migration of Assure (Modern Workplace) this project has already started with the requirement gathered and the contract tis currently out to tender. This is large complex project and requires someone to come in hit the ground running with a focus on supplier relationship & stakeholder management.
The Other Service Transition Manager will take a project from scratch and be involved in gathering requirements – non functional requirements. This migration will be for Dynamics 365 & Power platform.
Must Have’s for the Role
- Experience of migrating IT services as a fully accountable Service Transition Manager
- Demonstrate excellent Stakeholder Management & Supplier Relationship Management
- Strong planning and programming skills and track record of delivery
Role is office based from Snowhill, Birmingham coupled with Hybrid working – expectation is to work 5 days a fortnight from the Birmingham office and the rest of the time at home.
Salary £650 - £700 a day
Duties & Responsibilities
- To be accountable for leading the coordination of service transition activities across multiple projects, suppliers, service teams, Platforms and Products
- To be responsible for ensuring service transition resources are in place to support successful service delivery
- To be responsible for ensuring successful service transition plans are in place for each project
- To be accountable for providing recommendations to the ‘go-live’, ‘early-life support’ and ‘service acceptance’ stages
- To be accountable for ensuring that acceptance criteria are understood by the wider IT HS2 operations
- To be responsible for approving the shaping and delivery of transition projects and programmes to individual business needs
- To be accountable for leading service and support functions, ensuring they remain responsive to customer needs
- To be accountable for governance and audit reporting, ensuring service standards are met for their specific service
What we are looking for:
Service Transition Manager with experience migrating IT services in a complex organisation, interested in private or public sector. The successful candidate will have superb communication and stakeholder management skills a track record of successful delivery and excellent planning skills.
Skills:
- Continual service improvement. Ability to identify process optimisation opportunities and contribute to the implementation of proposed solutions.
- Problem management. Ability to proactively initiate and monitor actions to investigate patterns and trends to resolve problems, including consulting specialists where required. Ability to identify and apply appropriate solutions and assist methods, with implementation of them as well as preventative measures.
- User focus. Ability to collaborate with end users to understand user needs Ability to provide recommendations on the best tools and methods to be used to ensure positive end user outcomes.
Knowledge:
- Knowledge of the digital economy, digital contexts and design services that fit them, new technologies and their potential application.
- Knowledge of IT Service Frameworks, Methodologies and best practice.
- Knowledge of how to integrate multiple platforms
- Experience of leading service transitions and coordinating the capability and capacity from multiple teams and expert communities.
- Experience of implementing changes that enabled efficient and beneficial business changes
- Experience of defining and managing multiple service environments.
- Experience of producing reports to support the governance of service standards
