Unique opportunity for a BIM / Digital Engineering Specialist who has experience working in an engineering consulting environment or direct for a Utility or Client organisation to transfer their skills and experience and move into Management Consulting working for a World leading digital innovation, consulting and transformation management consultancy. Working with companies within Asset Intensive Industries (Utilities, Energy, Infrastructure, Transport, Nuclear, oil & Gas) you will provide these clients with Operational Transformations – Process Optimisation, transformation and asset optimisation.
I am looking for BIM/Digital Consultants whom work within Utilities / Energy & Asset rich industries (Rail, Oil & Gas, Power, Nuclear, Energy, Transport, Infrastructure) who would relish a career within a renowned independent management consulting business consulting with the world’s largest companies

What will you do?
This work involves developing or consulting on Digital Twins (BIM Models) to ensure through every stage of the Asset Lifecyle (PLM) – Design, Construction, Commissioning, Operations and eventual decommissioning the asset can be effectively and efficiently managed. This could include integration of data from the BIM Models into Asset Management systems to improve and reduce costs for the Operation and Maintenance of the Asset; enhance the operations through data centric ‘digital’ ways of working.
You will form part of an experienced and flexible project delivery team, helping clients to realise benefits and transform behaviours which will lead to improved efficiency, improved service delivery and business outcomes.
Experience
You’ll bring experience in Utilities / Energy & Asset rich industries (Rail, Oil & Gas, Power, Nuclear, Energy, Transport, Infrastructure). You will be a consultant most likely from an engineering or architectural company working as BIM Consultant, BIM/Digital Manager, Information Manager etc. You will have experience of BIM “Building Information Management”, Project Lifecycle Management Strategies, Digital Twin, Systems, Document and Data Control, Data Architecture, Data Governance and Data Quality Management.
As a Senior Consultant you will be expected to:
- Lead small teams of between 3-6, either as workstream lead or on smaller assignments
- Be client facing, typically on client site
- Be responsible for day to day client relationships
- Provide significant support to the sales process either through successful delivery, as members of account or through the development of proposals.
- Contribute to the development of the operations excellence capability group through proposition development
- Be able to work with senior stakeholders to support developing the business case for deploying new ways of working enabled by people, process, technology and data.
- Support the design and development of Project Management initiatives for the implementation of complex PLM (Project Lifecycle Management) solutions in the context of the overall client enterprise (management systems) landscape
- Support the design and implementation of PLM solutions to improve operational and project delivery performance, implementing appropriate benefits tracking measures
- Have an understanding of the principles of BIM
- Have experience of one of the leading PLM packages – Dassault, Teamcentre, Bentley Systems etc.
- Have an awareness of standard Operational Excellence and continuous improvement techniques and approaches would be advantageous, such as Lean.

You will have the knowledge and gravitas to credibly engage effectively with a range of utilities project staff up to a senior level on utilities project specific subjects. You will enjoy working in a collaborative team environment, providing direction and helping others to develop. You will be able to anticipate and adjust positively to situations with clients that involve changing tasks and/or location, shifting priorities or ambiguity. You will have excellent interpersonal skills, including an ability to listen to understand the client situation and the ability to communicate clearly and efficiently on potentially complex issues. Ability to work within an integrated team environment in a fast paced, pressurised client environment. You’ll have a track record of successful delivery within large scale projects or Projects working alongside other parties.
Career Development
You will most likely start as a Senior Consultant and will be provided an individual training programme to ensure you have the skills required from the consultant tool kit and exposed to the required experience which will enable you to develop and progress through the organisation.
To give you an idea of the next steps on the career ladder Career ladder / Progression:
- Senior Consultant £50 – 70,000 Bonus (£4 - £8000
- Managing Consultant (Salary £72 - 96k + Bonus £7-15K)
- Consultant where salaries range £96 – 140k (Bonus up to £25k) and that is even before we reach executive level.
Flexibility and Working Away
Whilst you will have London or another regional city as an office base location (typically 1 day each fortnight), you must be flexible in terms of assignment location within UK, as these roles may involve periods of time away from home at short notice – however the days of working 4 / 5 days a week at a client office are largely gone due to the pandemic and management consultancies are adopting a hybrid model where work will be done at home, office and client’s office
All expenses will be covered whilst away and you will be given a company credit card.
