- Description
- As a Network Development Manager at HS2 you will be responsible for managing the definition and delivery of the HS2 Network train service specification for HS2 trains which operate on the new HS2 Railway and also on the existing national railway network.
About the role:
- Manage the development of train service specification (TSS) options for each HS2 phase including pre-feasibility exploration. These options are the inputs to the Strategic Economic Case.
- Liaise with DfT and other industry stakeholders about the HS2 train service specification (TSS) and performance to be achieved for the HS2 Railway and the HS2 Network. On behalf of Technical Directorate, manage the liaison with other HS2 directorates about these railway capability requirements.
- Manage the development with other railway industry partners of the credible illustrative train service specifications for the GB Railway which acknowledges the HS2 Network proposals developed for the phased hybrid Bills. Engage and influence the stakeholders understanding of the HS2 TSS proposals.
- Through the Pre-Parliamentary and Parliamentary phases of HS2, manage the HS2 requirements on the existing railway to deliver each phase of HS2 classic compatible rolling stock TSS on the existing railway. Manage negotiations with Network Rail, the owner of the existing railway.
- Manage reviews to identify, eliminate and reduce the risk of changes to the TSS arising from changes to the HS2 infrastructure and passenger rolling stock specification. Identify integration risks and provide assurance activities.
- Support HS2 system safety assessments of the Phased hybrid Bill interim design proposals.
- Actively promote and embed Equality Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) in all your work, and support and comply with all organisational initiatives, policies and procedures on EDI.
About You:
- Broad experience of developing train service specifications and timetables and related models for public transport or Broad experience of developing and analysing models to inform long term planning activities.
- Experience of working with sponsors, organisational representatives of the UK railway industry, regulatory bodies and other major stakeholders.
- Knowledge of UK railway industry regulatory and change processes.
- Qualified to degree level or equivalent.
- Ability to effectively manage personal relationships in development projects and with consultants.
- Proven ability to work effectively in teams in a fast moving, changing environment.
