Respected Rail & Civil Engineering Main Contractor with a real pedigree & indeed history of delivering Network Rail frameworks across England are looking for a Framework Manager / Director for Electrification and Plant (E&P) Network Rail CP7 E&P framework across the North – Northwest & Central – West Coat Mainline and Northeastern Regions.
Projects are design & build and valued £7m – 50m – work bank currently involves 2 / 3 £30m multidisciplinary projects to increase the power to parts of the West Cost Mainline to allow for both Freight and High-Speed Trains, works include Substations 11Kv & 33KV, HV cabling & troughing, OLE, civils, power). Projects are in early-stage design (ECI) with the contractor consulting/advising the client Network Rail, developing solutions.
The contractor seeks a Programme Manager/Director who can develop the E&P capability and strategy and also be responsible for overseeing projects from conception to completion. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams, manage stakeholder relationships, and ensure that our projects are delivered on time and within budget.
The contractor is a leading provider to the rail and transport sectors with a focus on winning long terms frameworks with the likes of Network Rail, National highways this a sustainable profitable business with a growing orderbook. In addition to impressive organic growth, they have also made some astute acquisitions including a HV Power Design Consultancy which has obvious benefits & capabilities for the E&P framework.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Provide visionary leadership for electrification projects, ensuring they are executed with the highest standards of quality, safety, and efficiency.
- Develop and implement strategic plans to expand our electrification offering.
- Build and Lead project teams, ensuring alignment with company objectives and industry standards.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, partners, and stakeholders.
- Monitor project performance and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
- Manage budgets, timelines, and resources effectively.

Salary £85 – 110,000 + Car / Allowance + Health + Pension + travel
Role salary level wide depending on Framework Manager / Director level
Role can be based from Manchester / Crewe or Northumberland offices - covering WCML and NE regions.
Background
Proven experience in programme management within multi-disciplinary Rail Electrification Infrastructure projects. You will have familiarity with electrification systems, power distribution, and infrastructure development, including an understanding of relevant technologies and best practices. Previous experience working for a tier one contracting organisation.
You will be a qualified Engineer - such as electrical engineering, civil engineering, project management, or a related discipline. In-depth knowledge of electrification systems, power distribution, and related infrastructure, including familiarity with electrical codes and standards. Experience working in OLE infrastructure delivering E&P schemes on Network Rail infrastructure - Experience working in 11kv or 33kv substations.
You will be a Senior Project Manager or above, with proven experience in Senior project management / Programme Management, especially in overseeing electrification projects from initiation to completion. Alongside
