2 Interim Commercial Managers are required to work for a 6 month and 12month contract respectively on the High Speed Two project this is a multi-billion-pound high-speed railway to directly link the city centres of: London, Birmingham, Leeds and Manchester. Working directly for the client organisation working from Birmingham, Snowhill Office coupled with Hybrid Working.
1 Commercial Manager is required for the £275m (2019 prices) New Train Depot in Washwood Heath – the Depot is HS2’s maintenance facility and main control centre for the whole HS2 network. This contract is currently in Tender during the ITT stage so they are looking for a Commercial Manager with Pre contract experience, must have Commercial Strategies – negotiation, pricing, procurement, NEC3 suite of contracts – 6 month contract, potential for contract extension
1 Commercial Manager for the £500m Rail System Contract, very important contract on the Critical path of HS2 – this is an M&E Contract to provide LV Electrical throughout Phase 1, across the whole Phase 1 route – Birmingham to Euston including the stations. This contract is also in tender stage and so again someone with Pre contract experience is a must, NEC3 Option C (Target Cost), Commercial Strategies – negotiation of Target cost & pricing. 1 year contract length.
Both Commercial Managers will mainly work pre contract during the tender period and once the preferred bidder has been chosen you will be heavily involved in the negotiation of the Target Cost - Commercial Strategies - negotiation, pricing. Both roles report to a Senior Commercial Manager and have 2 direct reports.
Work Situation - Hybrid
Both roles are based from Snowhill, Birmingham. There is a flexible hybrid working model working 2 days a week from the office. Overall this is a very flexible modern employer who cares about delivery not where you deliver from, however, if you wish to be based front the office more you can.

Candidate Requirements
- Senior QS / Commercial Manager from a Quantity Surveying background (or relevant experience) with either Client, Consultant or Main Contractor experience. Experience will be working on Rail Infrastructure, Heavy civils, utilities etc.
- Must have NEC3 C (Target Cost).
- Experience of projects during pre-Tender, procurement stage and experience of Commercial Strategies for Negotiation of target cost.
- Candidates will have a good understanding of assurance & governance.
- Key Behavioral – Self Starter, appetite to Develop & learn, excellent communication and collaboration skills, organised and delivery focused.
