This role is responsible for providing relationship management capability across the whole organisation, acting as the single point of contact working with defined stakeholders through the organisation & the supply chain (where applicable) to understand the operational and developmental needs of the business, ensuring that the needs are communicated to enable effective prioritisation decisions to be made and stakeholder relationships to be effectively managed.
Reporting to Senior Business Relationship Manager working in the CFO Directorate based in Birmingham, Snow Hill. The role will be joining a team of 5 other Business Relationship Managers working with 8 other Business analysts on a broad range of projects throughout the whole organisation. The role will be strategic but also hands on delivery focused business relationship management.
Accountabilities- To be responsible for gathering information from customers to understand their needs and detail requirements with support of Business Analysts where appropriate.
- To be responsible for maintaining contact with the customer and stakeholders to ensure satisfaction.
- To be responsible for capturing and disseminating technical business information and translate this into specific requirements.
- To be accountable for ensuring policies and frameworks are adhered to by customer groups.
- To be responsible for ensuring consistency in engagement across the business.
- To be responsible for translating and mediating between operations and the business
- To be accountable for operating as the single point of contact for stakeholders, on behalf of the business
- To be responsible for identifying and managing Continual Service Improvement (CSI)
Required Criteria
This is a senior level role that requires analytical and strategic minds who have previously been working as a Business Relationship Manager (or as an Account Leader/Manager). The candidate must have worked in any large complex organisation (private or public sector) and will have experience in stakeholder management and governance. Candidates can have experience in Business Relationship Management of any specific sector (e.g Land & Property), as long as the project was large and complex.
Skills:
- Business analysis - Ability to investigate problems and opportunities in existing processes and contribute to recommending solutions.
- Relationship management - Ability to influence stakeholders and manage relationships effectively. Ability to create and developing long-term strategic relationships to facilitate and deliver business outcomes.
- Strategic thinking - Ability to work within a strategic context and communicate how activities meet strategic goals.
- User focus - Ability to identify and engage with users or stakeholders to collate needs, rationales and can translate this into outcomes.
Knowledge:
- Knowledge of a variety of project delivery methods
- Knowledge of digital information technology, trends and the opportunities they present
Type of experience:
- Experience of collaborating across multiple disciplines to deliver customer requirements
- Business Relationship experience where you will be managing at the project lifecycle – develop business case, align business requirements to strategy, business engagements, Assurance gate reviews, communicate / collaborate and manage across a range of internal senior stakeholders.
- Could also be working in Business Change, business transformation.
