- Description
- Reporting to the CAD System Manager working on Phase 1 (London - Birmingham) of the High Speed Rail Programme which is in detailed design and construction stage. The CAD/BIM Data Coordinator is responsible for managing the Data Quality and CAD processes and procedures between the design and build contracting teams (including their design consultancies) and the High Speed Rail client organisation - ensuring and assuring that the correct processes and Data Quality are being followed making improvements where necessary.
The post holder will be working within the Digital Engineering team supporting delivery functions and interfacing with suppliers across information types (graphical, non-graphical and geospatial). The role will be a Subject Matter Expert (SME) on CAD data management such as data production, content publishing, and compliance of data quality & assurance processes.
Challenges:
- Sheer Volume of data - you will manage a more than 1,000,000 CAD data records delivered from numerous contracts exceeding the value of £15billion.
- Number of stakeholders to coordinate with - you will engage a number of interfacing design & engineering suppliers
- Ensuring the Quality of the data being received is of sufficient quality for onwards use of the HS2 business and supply chain
Please note this induvial will not be modelling any designs they will be checking and assuring the information / data they receive.
The IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:
- CAD Coordinator experience for Transportation Client Organisation
- Experience with Bentley suite of software - ProjectWise, Bentley AECOsim – Autodesk software would also be a plus - Revit and Navisworks
- Good understanding of BIM processes and standards
- IFC knowledge (helpful although training can be given)
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILTIIES
- Responsible for management of data exchanges of Suppliers within the HS2 Common Data Environment, with particular focus on CAD data.
- Responsible for reporting data quality issues and analysis of root causes to the Digital Engineering Team, HS2 Delivery Teams and Suppliers, with particular focus on CAD data.
- Responsible for compliance with Digital Engineering standards, specifications and operating procedures within HS2 and Suppliers.
- Responsible for developing and delivering training and support to relevant HS2 business functions, Delivery Teams and our Suppliers regarding HS2 standards, specifications, tools and operating procedures. Responsible for identifying areas for improvement and feedback into information requirements, specification development and standards creation
- Contribute to the management of the HS2’s Common Data Environment and governance of information, with a particular focus on CAD data.
- Contribute to undertaking transformation of data for other functional uses within HS2 and facilitating appropriate data assurance and approval by others.
Required Criteria
Looking for a CAD Coordinator, CAD Manager, CAD Data Manager or CAD Manager (or equivalent) who has worked for a transportation client or consultancy where they are in receipt of CAD/BIM information (data) and are checking and assuring data quality and data processes. Will have a good understanding of BIM level 2 standards and experienced in the Bentley suite of software’s alongside strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

- Experience of raising awareness of Digital Engineering, delivering briefing sessions and providing support throughout an organisation and its supply chain.
- Experience of working within set standards, processes and systems but with an expectation to contribute to decision making on process improvement.

London £48 – 53,000 + Pen (6:12) + 25 hols
Birmingham £40 – 45,000 + Pen (6/12) + 25 hols
