THE OPPORTUNITY
The Technical Associate will head up management of a team of 4/5 civil engineering designers. The team supports clients through the whole project life cycle typically working on designs for roads, pavements, drainage, bridges, 278 works & earthworks / remediation. The Technical Associate will provide Team & Technical leadership, effective management, mentorship alongside being a hands on designer with your own workload to manage, coupled with overall responsibility for quality and assurance within the department.
Working on a wide variety of property and construction projects the Civil Engineering team provides a comprehensive range of civil engineering design, procurement, coordination and project management services to support clients through the whole project life cycle; offering a full multi-disciplinary service or standalone specialist technical services. The team undertake all aspects of civil engineering design from Pre-Planning [Masterplanning], Conceptual design through to the production of As-Built drawings.
THE CANDIDATE
Experience and Skills Required:
- Educated to degree
- Chartered Engineer or near Chartered
- Civil Engineering Design Experience in road, drainage, externals, earthworks and general civil engineering.
- Thorough knowledge of Section Agreements required to obtain technical approval for highway and drainage schemes (e.g Section 278, Section 104 etc)
- Good understanding of Building Regulation Part H designs
- An understanding of DMRB and MfS Vol 1 and 2
- Experience with managing and developing a Civil Engineering team/discipline
- You will have the technical skills, knowledge and experience to find creative solutions for even the most complex challenges and the ability to communicate these clearly to all parties
- Have good communication and problem-solving skills
- Manage client relationships and internal coordination of projects

SALARY & PACKAGE
- Salary £55 – 70,000
- 26 days holiday, increasing with length of service
