The Digital/BIM Consultancy
The Digital Engineering team is a small independent team of 4 which has enjoyed many successes including year on year growth and they were shortlisted for the BIM & Digital Initiative of the Year at the Building Awards 2019. The Digital Engineering team is operated as its own independent consultancy and so the successful candidate will have an opportunity to be directly involved in the running, marketing and development of the business unit.
 
The BIM Team are based from modern contemporary offices in London SE1.
 
Their Digital/BIM Services
The team provide a range of services in the BIM and Digital Engineering space both direct to Client organisations, external Consultant teams, Contractors, as well as to its own internal multi-disciplinary projects. Typical roles and services include BIM Coordination, Information Management, 4D Simulations, as well as unique developed services such as Model Firestopping Review service. The Digital Engineering team also play a key part in making new technology recommendations, administering standards within the wider consultancy and adopting innovations through automating and BIM Programming, which can also be offered as an external consultancy service.

The Opportunity – 3 Roles
Due to demand for their BIM/Digital Services they are seeking talented BIM Coordinators and BIM Managers (all levels) to join and strengthen their Digital Engineering team. These are unique opportunities to join a growing team, delivering BIM consultancy services across a diverse range of projects. As an independent team as part of the larger organisation, the roles allow exposure to all facets of managing a small business unit, as well as clear career development opportunities into team leadership and Associate roles.
 
  • Junior Coordinator / Ass Digital              £30 – 35,000 + pkg
  • BIM Coordinator / Digital Engineer          £35 – 42,000 + pkg (health, Pension)
  • Information Manager/ Snr Digital Eng     £42 – 50,000 + £5000 Car allowance + Bonus (5-10%)

Working with Digital Engineers and alongside multi-disciplinary consultant teams, you will be keen to specialise in digitalisation of the industry and adoption of process technologies underpinned by BIM. You will play a key part in the continued growth of this service. The Digital Engineering projects span a variety of sectors ranging from defence and manufacturing to residential and cultural, with construction values anywhere from £5M up to £500M. Construction – commercial and residential (high rise) represents the current main workflow, however, other projects including infrastructure are also managed.


Role and Responsibilities:
  • Carry out BIM Coordination activities (using Solibri / Navisworks & BIM Track) and lead BIM Coordination Workshops
  • Administrate Common Data Environment platforms (typically A-Site)
  • Perform role of Information Manager and promote delivery of datasets such as COBie
  • Advise on appropriate BIM strategies and lead teams to align with requirements
  • Conduct training and upskilling workshops for teams at both strategic and technical levels
  • Develop 4D Simulations (using Synchro)
  • Client-facing role, driving marketing initiatives for the team, and contributing to work-winning

Experience and Skills Required:

Please Note:The Ass and Digital Engineer will have experience in BIM Coordination on a building or infrastructure project for a consultancy, architects or contractor.  You will have knowledge of BIM Level 2 standards as well as understanding of information management.  Assistant will have less knowledge and much of the skills can be taught. Senior Digital Engineer will have experience as BIM Managers / Information Managers being able to manage the full BIM process including Cobie Data deliverables – opps for Team Leader & Associate level at Snr DE.
 
For all 3 roles they are looking for a professional candidate with strong technology skills, good communication & business acumen who are interested in learning and developing new skills and their career.

  • Must have some industry experience in BIM Coordinator – from contractor, consultancy or client
  • Bachelors / Masters / HNC other qualifications in either built environment / BIM / data science or change management
  • Enthusiastic and diligent approach to delivering outputs
  • Good time management skills with the ability to work independently as required
  • A proactive “can do” and collaborative attitude
  • Strong knowledge of BIM standards, emerging software, and industry developments
  • Awareness of own strengths and weaknesses with a commitment to self and team development
  • Good communication skills able to build trust, maintain excellent working relationships, and pursue new business
  • Experience using a variety of software for a variety of applications such as;
    • Must have BIM authoring skills (e.g Revit) and BIM Coordination / data collation (e.g Navisworks, Solibri)
    • Please note soft skills and general technology understanding more important that having experience of specific software packages which can always be taught with that in mind other software current used include:
      • Reporting (eg. Power BI)
      • 4D Simulation (eg. Synchro)
      • Collaboration (eg. BIM Track)
      • Common Data Environment (eg. Asite)
  • Desirable to have an interest in BIM innovations through the use of industrialised approaches – automation, BIM development.
