- The High Speed 2 project is the new multi-billion-pound high-speed railway to directly link the city centres of: London, Birmingham, Leeds and Manchester completing in 2033.
Please note this is a 7 month FTC for maternity cover which could be extended to 12 months.
Description
As a Project Manager at HS2 you will Provide Project Management support to an assigned project team to ensure our delivery partners deliver according to time, cost, quality, safety and environmental specifications.
They will be task to create process improvements using business improvement techniques and data analysis. Business Improvements could include improvements to: project documents, policies, processes.
About the role:
- Lead, both internally and externally, continuous improvement and innovation projects. Raise the awareness and capability of continuous improvement across the entire project team
- Lead, review, influence and motivate HS2 subject matter experts assigned to the project teams and drive process improvements and methodology
- Lead and collaborate with teams embedded within our delivery partners to deliver the project scope
- Monitor, improve, validate and advise on the programme with regards to time, cost, resources, quality and safety
- Manage business and project risks, including the development of contingency plans through appropriate risk management/mitigation strategies
- With the support of Commercial, manage Works Information and administer an NEC3 form of contract dealing with variations and compensation events with accountability for project governance and ensuring that project scope is closely managed
- Assure that the management of health, safety, environment and security by the appointed supply chain meets the required standard by arrangements to continually monitor, review and address HSS&E performance with the supplier.
Qualifications
About You:
- Project management experience supported by a suitable qualification such as APM or Prince 2
- Knowledge of Lean and other continuous improvement techniques such as Six sigma, Scrum, Agile
- Keen Interest in innovation and delivering business change
- Experience of governance and assurance activities
- Experience of working with complex joint ventures, alliances and stakeholder groups.
