The Position can be based out of any of these offices: Kentish Town, London head officeNW5, Cannock office, Golborne office or Leeds office. You would manage your own workload and diary and in addition have some flexibility working from home
Working for a very well-known civil engineering main contractor with a turnover approaching £800m who have a very detailed business plan to reach £2bn turnover by 2025. 1 Digital Manager will manage liner new build / transportation projects – Highways, Rail & Tunnelling the other Digital Manager will be responsible for process and utilities which primarily includes utilities frameworks & water.
Main Purpose of RoleTo support and execute the day to day implementation of our BIM strategy across the group. The candidate will be responsible for the effective implementation and compliant adoption of BIM processes on a portfolio of projects.
Responsible for the evaluation and effective communication of the objectives, opportunities, challenges and risks associated with meeting our Employer’s Information Requirements before managing the successful execution and delivery.
Seeking a confident, diligent professional well versed and practiced in BIM Level2 standards with a clear appetite for continuous improvement.
The role is 80% working on projects (live projects and bids) and 20% Strategy.
Key Challenge / Opportunity
This is a truly a unique opportunity to take a company with very little Digital development – BIM / GIS etc.– skip a generation of mistakes and develop a fully digital organisation, who will have a fully digital management system within 2 years. The digital Manager will be working in a small but highly effective Digital/BIM Team reporting directly to the Head of BIM and will have input into Strategy and development. The department will act as a support service (internal consultancy) to the rest of the company.
Key Responsibilities and Duties- Working within a central support team, reporting to the Group Head of BIM & Digital Construction, the BIM Implementation Manager role will manage a portfolio of projects across the business helping teams to achieve their digital objectives and deadlines in line with Employer Information Requirements and the company’s BIM Strategy.
- The candidate will be expected to work closely with the Engineering Team to:
- Understand digital requirements, opportunities wand risks within the four key infrastructure sectors
- To develop and implement a sector specific digital engineering model
- Embed and promote new digital processes
- Ensure any design appointments are comprehensive and competency has been assessed
- Help them adopt new tools/processes appropriately
- Day-to-day work will likely involve interaction with the primary design team and project delivery team, hosting BIM Execution Plan workshops, assessing and communicating the Employers Information Requirements, presenting, coaching, auditing. Generally influencing the way teams understand, respect and execute the digital deliverables and the data they produce
- Agree, record and report performance measures regularly for your projects
- Responsible for regular auditing of BEP compliance and conducting Digital Health Checks across their portfolio

- You will be expected to maintain a high level of competency in your field through CPD
- ·Help us evolve – Meet regularly with the core team to share knowledge, good ideas and reduce risks so to best serve the wider business and future projects
- Support the development and improvement of associated implementation materials
- Capture best practice evidence for marketing, work winning and award submissions (internal and external)
- Contributing to compelling tender responses
- Ad-hoc activities as deemed appropriate by Line Management
Qualifications / Training
- All roles are expected to have the relevant competency skills cards
- BIM Practitioner Certification (BRE, ICE, or equivalent). (Desirable).
- Must have demonstrable experience & knowledge of BIM authoring/ review tools. A demonstrable knowledge of Navisworks / Solibri/ Bentley Products. (Desirable).
- Professional Qualification or working towards one as proof of rounded nature. (Desirable).
Skills/ Experience- Proven experience delivering the requirements of BS1192:2 and a solid understanding the UK PAS1192 BIM Suite.
- MS package knowledge (e.g. Outlook, Excel, Word, Visio)
- Experience working in a BIM Level 2 environment
- Diplomatic but assertive
- Ability to build and maintain relationships
- Will have a keen interest in technology and a desire to improve processes - A passion for continuous improvement within our digital practices
- An enthusiastic and positive team player - giving the teams confidence in the use of BIM
- Builds relationships with internal customers, external suppliers and support teams
- Solutions focused - working on an environment where readymade answers are not always available
- Excellent communicator with confident presentation skills
- A mature approach to flexibility/willingness to travel to construction sites and design team offices as required. Reciprocated by ability to work from home where reasonable
- Diligence - Be accurate and thorough in the review of client documentation and the reporting of our respective performance
- Ability to perform consistently under reasonable pressure

- Experience of field scanning technology an advantage. (Desirable).

SALARY:
Digital Manager £45 – 55,000k + pkg
Senior Digital Manager £55 – 65,000 + pkg
