- Description
- 1. JOB PURPOSE
BIM is the digitalisation of the construction process, it results in very accurate 3D modelling, animated programs; effectively a project information management tool. This is all driven by data where decisions and strategy can be based on accurate data rather than guess work. This is truly a new dawn for the construction industry and one that requires new skills such as Data Scientist. All BIM / GIS training will be supplied including excellent promotional opportunities and working on the most complex highest profile infrastructure project of our time.
HS2 recognises the benefits gained from the implementation of BIM and is committed to meeting their obligations set out in the Government Construction Strategy. As an approach to this strategy, HS2 has dedicated a BIM Leadership team to enable the capability to meet or exceed the objectives of the Government’s BIM mandate and to achieve the overall HS2’s vision.
HS2’s BIM Strategy focuses on three main streams: leadership; upskilling; and futureproofing. By focusing on these long-term strategic areas as well as People, Process, Information and Technology, as key enablers, HS2 can realise real value from its digital assets. To achieve HS2’s BIM objectives and contribute to its strategic goals, it is critical that these capabilities are implemented throughout the client organisation and are clearly communicated to all tiers of the Supply Chain.
Supporting the BIM Leadership Team, you will work closely with the Programme & Strategy and Technical Directorates to enable the Phase One and Phase Two delivery teams to define, refine and implement their information architecture for all design management systems.
