Location: Old Oak Common Site, West London (Hybrid: 3 days site / 2 days WFH)
Salary: £73,000 – £83,672 + Pension (6:12) + 25 Days HolidayAbout the Project
Old Oak Common will be the UK’s largest and best-connected rail station, integrating HS2, National Rail, London Underground, and the Elizabeth Line. The new station features 14 platforms and an 850m-long station box — a landmark engineering achievement due to be delivery by 2033.
As part of this transformation, the highways & utilities package includes the replacement and widening of three major bridges, road works to Old Oak Common Lane, and extensive utility diversions.
You will join the HS2 client-side delivery team, working within a lean, collaborative environment with BBVS (Balfour Beatty, Vinci, Systra) to manage the self-assuring contract. Your role is to provide programme assurance, technical guidance, and oversight—stepping in on high-risk issues and proactively supporting delivery success.
Your Role
Reporting to the Senior Project Manager, you’ll lead the delivery of highways, bridge structures, and utilities packages within a co-located Integrated Project Team (IPT). You’ll manage an Assistant PM and support graduates/apprentices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as NEC3 Project Manager (delegated from Client Representative)
- Ensure delivery against programme, quality, cost, and safety targets
- Oversee stakeholder interfaces (TfL, NR, LUL, Elizabeth Line)
- Review and accept contractor programmes and submissions
- Provide assurance on high-risk activities, proactively mitigate risks
- Support CDM duties and embed a strong safety-first culture
- Foster collaborative working across HS2, consultants, and contractors
- Enable innovation and continuous improvement across the IPT
