- MEP Design Manager working on a high-profile £100m project at City Airport.
Working for UK’s leading MEP engineering company with a turnover in excess of £300m part of a larger international Engineering group whose turnover are in the billions they are able to offer unparalleled career opportunities working throughout the built environment.
What you'll be doing
- As a MEP Design Manager, the key areas of accountability of the role including business objectives, and client satisfaction will be:
- Review of tender design information and comment in relation to technical compliance and initiation of Value Engineering ideas. This to involve developing hand marked design solutions to support estimating teams on occasion.
- Liaison with estimating department members to ensure understanding of client’s requirements and to review solutions. Review key plant and equipment selections at tender stage particularly related to VE or alternative design solutions.
- Develop and agree scope with Line Manager for the engagement of external design consultants and organisation of project agreements
- Monitoring of external design consultants performance during project delivery and supporting internal project team where issues arise.
- Develop and agree scope with Line Manager and BIM Lead the project BIM delivery requirements, plus monitoring of delivery during project stage, in particular the costs.
You will have:
- Qualified to HNC/HND through completion a technical apprenticeship, or degree level in Building Services;
- UK construction and in particular the building services industry with extensive experience within the construction industry with some design experience from conception to completion of a contract;
- Understanding of design interface and site issues;
- Knowledge of codes of practice, British Standards, CDM and Building Regulations;
- Previous experience working within Aviation Sector would be advantageous

SALARY
£70 - 75,000 + car/allowance + health care + pension and superb promotional opportunities.
